About this project
Research question: Which factors most strongly influence employee engagement as revealed by pulse-survey responses and sentiment analysis of internal communications?
Employee engagement is widely recognized as a critical factor in organisational performance, retention, and productivity. Recent advances in people-analytics have enabled companies to collect frequent 'pulse' surveys and mine sentiment from digital communications, offering new ways to understand engagement dynamics.
Despite the availability of such granular data, there is limited research systematically linking pulse-survey metrics and sentiment data to specific engagement drivers. Existing literature often relies on traditional annual surveys and lacks integration of real-time sentiment insights, leaving a gap in understanding how these data sources may complement each other.
This project will conduct a rigorous literature review, formulate hypotheses on engagement drivers, and design a methodology combining quantitative pulse-survey analysis with sentiment mining from internal communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Teams). Statistical and machine-learning techniques will be used to identify and rank key drivers, contributing to both academic knowledge and practical talent analytics.
The findings will help HR leaders target interventions more effectively and inform future research on high-frequency measurement and analytics in employee engagement, advancing organisational-behaviour scholarship and practice.
